Interesting insight about how Stonewall Jackson’s plan to take the fight to the enemy was similar to what the Romans did during the Punic wars. I recently read that Agathocles did the same thing to Carthage when Carthage was laying siege to Syracuse. I am wondering if the Romans decided to reuse Agathocles’s battle plan because they had exhausted all of their other methods for defeating Hannibal.
